Dr. Preeta Sharan obtained her Master degree from Banaras Hindu University and Ph.D from IIT BHU, Varanasi. Additionally she did her post doctorate from IIT Kharagpur in the domain of Optical Sensor. She has published many papers in reputed journals and conferences. She has visited many countries for the research papers presentation in the domain of Nano-photonics, Optical sensors and Quantum dots. She is currently working as Professor and research head in Department of ECE, Oxford college of Engineering Bangalore.

She has taken various funded projects from government of India. Her area of research includes integrated optics, Surface Plasmonic Resonance, Fiber Bragg grating, Quantum dots etc. She has taken membership of technical body like IEEE, ISTE, IETE and IMAPS. She is also the SIGHT coordinator of IEEE bangalore section, India.
