We have filed our seventh Indian Patent title “A Packaging assembly and Magnetic mounting of Fiber optical sensors”. The invention discloses a packaging assembly to mount fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors on the rail.

The packaging assembly includes a metal sheet with powerful magnets to mount FBG sensor on the rail. The invention also discloses method and system for magnetic mounting of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors to calculate strains and number of train axles. The mounting process is simple, reliable and increases the repeatability of fiber optic sensors. The assembly has important significance over bulky, expensive fixture with clamps.
