L2M Rail is happy to announce that a key patent bearing number 341592 is granted today, protecting the IP for our path-breaking “Axle Counter Plus”. The patent is for a method off axle counting, direction detection and classification of the railway vehicle’. We have already completed most of the work for the commercialization of this patent.

Reliable train detection is fundamental to safe and efficient train operations. The existing Track Circuits and EM Sensor-based Axle Counters have served the railways well for over a century, but modern technologies provide better options. Our versatile solution employs highly reliable next-generation FBG sensors mounted onto the tracks to monitor the track occupancy and train direction with the help of interrogators. Our innovative solution provides stable operation even in adverse environmental and waterlogging conditions. Our state-of-the-art solution reduces maintenance costs to a great extent and can manage almost any train detection application. Apart from providing information about track occupancy and train direction, this solution can provide information about the classification of railway vehicle. We are conducting further research to provide information about loaded or empty wagons, the weight of the Wagon, uneven loading, unhealthy coach/wagon/ wheel and much more.
